RIP. Georgia Police Officer Caleb Abney was struck and killed during a traffic stop on Interstate 75. Officer Abney had pulled over a vehicle in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 near mile marker 31. While seated in his patrol vehicle with his emergency lights activated, a driver traveling at speeds of approximately 100 mph crashed into the rear of his vehicle, pushing it into the car he had stopped. A 2-day interstate traffic enforcement operation on I-4 and I-95 resulted in 180 traffic stops, 172 uniform traffic citations, 24 written warnings, 11 criminal citations and 11 misdemeanor arrests.
